The Story
1X PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline) used in biological research, contains potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and sodium phosphate in a 1X solution of 137 mM NaCl, 2.7 mM KCl, and 12 mM monosodium phosphate. PBS is non-toxic to mammalian cells and isotonic. It is RNase/DNase free, sterile, and autoclaved.
