0.5N Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution is a laboratory-grade reagent prepared in WFI-quality water, containing 20 g of pure NaOH per liter, and is ideal for pH regulation, resin cleaning, and volumetric analysis.

As a strong base, NaOH fully dissociates into sodium (Na⁺) and hydroxide (OH⁻) ions, significantly raising pH and generating heat when dissolved or neutralized. Highly corrosive and compliant with NIST standards, it must be handled with care to avoid damage to metals and irritation to skin, eyes, or mucous membranes.
